UNDERSTANDING DEATH FACING DEATH ACCEPTING DEATH
You will learn the truth and the truth will make you free! |

Whether were being a planned and desired birth or an unplanned or unwanted birth, our life begins at conception. If you’re carrying a child that’s unplanned or unwanted than hopefully after reading this pamphlet and gaining some understanding of what God has planned for your baby, you will realize just how important and sacred each life is. From day one of the first trimester we begin to develop! Our internal organs grow, our external extremities take shape and we spend each day in the only world we know, the safe home of our mother's womb. How warm and friendly this place is, the womb provides for us a safe shelter, the womb feeds us, it nourishes our frail wanting bodies and enables our bodies to grow. The womb provides a genuine love within, we experience and encourage that love as each day passes. Over the period of nine months within we know and accept our mother's womb as our home, as our world, as our lifestyle and as the norm, after all, this is all we know. If it were within our power, we would never leave that safe haven.
Nine months later.
Something is happening, something strange is happening in this womb. I feel a pressure I have never felt before, for the first time I am experiencing pain. I’m scared, what is happening to me? Don’t do this to me. I feel I am being forced out of my home. I don’t want to leave this home! I feel safe in here, something is pulling at me, it feels cold out here! I don’t want to leave, don’t let them take me from this warmth! You, whoever you are, the one who has protected me, the one who has fed me, the one who has loved and nourished me, the one who has helped me to grow. You, my creator, don’t let them do this to me. Make them leave me alone. I like it in here. STOP THEM.... WHAT IS THAT?
What is that light, the coldness has turned to a warm feeling? I hear voices, I hear a loving voice, I hear a gentle voice, I feel warm loving arms around me. I know this person, you are the one who carried me in the womb. You, you are my mother. Oh mother, I am so glad to be in your arms, this place is so much better, hold me mother and protect me.
If only we had known just how good this birth would be. We would have never fought it. We would have welcomed it!
As baptized Christians we accept many promises. These promises we accept in faith! The greatest of these promises is the salvation we will receive through Jesus Christ.
God promised us that he would save us and give us eternal life, if we would just accept His Son Jesus Christ as our Savior. "Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone that believes in hi may not be lost, but may have eternal life." John 1-3: vs:16 It is only after our baptism and as we continue believing in Jesus Christ and serving him the best way humanly possible that we can attain that promise.
Have you ever heard a fellow Christian say "You must be born again?" They are right! As a baptized Catholic you have been born again, you were born again when you were baptized. We were born again even though we may have been too young to understand that rebirth! Then at the sacrament of Confirmation at the age of reason we reconfirmed our belief and commitment to Jesus Christ and made our lifelong commitment to Him, thus, confirming our born again status in this world. We will however be born again in this lifetime. We will be born again at the hour of our death!
Life begins at the hour of our death!
This again brings us back to our first birth. Remember the struggle we made to stay within the safe confined of our mother's womb. We didn’t want to leave, we were apprehensive about leaving and any changes it would bring upon our lifestyle. When we were forced out of the womb and we met our loving mother in this new world we felt the safety of her loving arms around us. We were glad that we were born.
We will truly be born again, as Jesus Christ has promised. We will be born again into eternal life with the Father as we leave this world. If you have ever been so fortunate to have been there at the bedside of your spouse, mother or father or a loved one or a friend during their last moments here on earth, you may have experienced the real meaning of life. We were born to die! That death is the greatest rebirth, it’s like a catapillar coming out of a cocoon and transforming into a beautiful butterfly. This is the moment we were born for. I know that many of you didn’t see this beautiful part of death the way I am describing it. I know you saw expressions of pain and agony. Perhaps you saw and heard labored breathing, jerking motions, the head shaking and the body contorting. Many of these signs and motions are looked at as pain and pain alone. These movements and actions are very similar to the movements and breathing patterns you experienced while you spent the last few moments in your mother's womb. You were about to be born and you were fighting it!
On our death bed we are fighting change. We don’t want to leave this world we have grown up in. We don’t want change. We are apprehensive and afraid of the unknown and we fight it just like we fought it prior to coming out of our mother's womb. We fight to stay here.
As Christians we believe in Jesus Christ and we should understand his promise of eternal life, with our Father in a home he has prepared for us in Heaven. Imagine, eternity in the beautiful light of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Heaven, Paradise a place where there in no more sin, no pain, no guilt, no sickness, no hate, no prejudice, no killing, no wars, no fears, no want or desires, everything is there, everything you ever wanted or dreamed of in Paradise.
"There are many mansions in my Fathers house; if there were not, I should have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you, and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return and take you with me; so that where I am you may be too. You know the way to the place I am going." John 1:14: vs: 2-4
A new world, a new place, and a new home. As we or our loved ones leave the comfort of this place to be REBORN, we will again experience the joy of feeling loving arms surround us. The loving arms of God our Father. This time for eternity and eternity is forever!
This was the moment we were born for. This is the moment of our resurrection with Jesus Christ our brother and our Savior.
